Charles,

Thanks for stopping by -- However, I sure hope you don't believe everything you read on the internet. The article you linked is pure drivel. I stopped reading after the author insisted that Al Mohler is an instrument of the devil.

While the graphics over at Team-pyro are a bit over the top and while the blog has a "cult-like" following (I mean, Dan P is a contributor -- what do you expect?), I assure you that Phil isn't in secret league with the Free-masons.

Read the article concerning the transformation of John Macarthur's church at the link following this excerpt:
---------
Of interest, Grace Community Church elder and executive director of Grace to You, Phil Johnson, is a Baptistic Calvinist. This statement appears on his website: “Theologically, Phil is a committed Calvinist—with a decidedly Baptistic bent.” (Who is Phillip R. Johnson?) Even more interesting is this statement: “He...is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (FIRE).” The slogan of FIRE is “In essentials Unity, In non-essentials Liberty, in all things Charity.” (FIRE) Why is this interesting? FIRE’s slogan is nearly identical to the slogan of Phoenix Freemasonry! “It is the glory of Masonry to teach Unity in essentials, Liberty in details, Charity in all things; and by this sign its spirit must at last prevail.”

It's interesting you should mention this today, Dave. I have often mentioned this to friends who use the word 'preaching' in the pejorative. "I don't mean to preach at you but..." or "I don't mean to sound like I'm preaching..." All while they are supposed to be - commanded to be - preaching! We need to get over our timidity and stop avoiding declarative and absolute statements. Preaching is a wonderful thing and a true blessing when its done with humility and courage.

Thanks for the reminder.
